Dr. Jim Cox was born in Indiana but moved to NC for High School. He attended college and medical school in NC. Dr. Cox married Payge Pinson in 1988 and they have 3 children Casey, Ali, and Wade. All 3 are college graduates. Casey graduated from Berry College, Ali from Johns Hopkins University, and Wade from University of Georgia.
Practicing pediatrics is very rewarding for Dr. Cox. He enjoys the interactions with the patients and families. Watching the family grow and thrive together and seeing his patients become healthy young adults is the most fun and rewarding part of his pediatric practice. Medicine constantly changes and Dr. Cox enjoys keeping up to date with all of the new information through journals and conferences.
Dr. Cox enjoys traveling with his wife to see their 3 children and other exciting places. He enjoys fishing on the Chattahoochee, playing golf, and tennis.

Dr. Cox has a great way of communicating w/ my daughter. He always shares a lot of valuable information.
He is the best. He is very friendly and very patient with my kid. We always feel so much relieved after we meet him anytime my kid gets sick.
We had to see Dr. Cox because my sons regular pediatrician was not there for a sick visit. We liked him a lot. He had a connection with the kids and had a really good bedside manner. He seem to be knowledgeable about us coming in for a strep infection twice in two weeks. The biggest thing is that my son was receptive to him in his manner.
Dr. Cox is great! He handles our baby with care and is very good at a explaining great detail to any questions we have.

Love love love Dr. Cox and the entire staff at Children's Medical Group. Everyone is so welcoming and friendly and I've never felt rushed yet somehow we never have to wait for long either. The doctors and nurses really take the time to listen to your concerns and value you as the expert in your child's care. When my daughter had an asthmatic episode they responded quickly and with such great care and concern. We will continue to refer all of our friends and family!
